Schemas for CML and Related Languages

These are formal declarations of XML languages, DTDs are better supported but schemas are significantly easier to read. Either can be used to validate documents using parsers that understand them. Namespace should point to the relevant DTD or schema e.g. http://www.xml-cml.org

CML 2.1.1

Starting with Version 2, CML has been modularised. The CML core components are now available as CMLCore, with a Namespace of http://www.xml-cml.org/schema/cml2/core. This specification is only available as a W3C compliant Schema definition (.xsd file) and has been formally published in the journal J. Chem. Inf. Comp. Science in 2003. Download as follows:

STMML 1.0

The STMML components are now available, with a Namespace of http://www.xml-cml.org/schema/stmml. This specification is only available as a W3C compliant Schema definition (.xsd file) and has been published as: "STMML. A Markup Language for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishing", P. Murray-Rust and H. S. Rzepa, Data Science, 2002, 1(2), 1-65.
